How to get an Evergreen Park Public Library Card:

Library cards are free for all Evergreen Park residents and are issued in person. Here’s what you need:  

1. Complete the application:
   1. You can apply in person or online (please see the "Apply Online" section below).

2. Show a valid photo ID with your name and Evergreen Park address (e.g., driver’s license or State ID) 
   1. If your ID does not have your current address, bring one of these recent (within 6 months) documents along with your photo ID:  
      1. Utility bill (gas, electricity, water, phone) 
      2. Vehicle registration  
      3. Lease, mortgage, or property document 
      4. Class schedule  
      5. Public/ medical aid ID card 
      6. Bank or credit card statement 
      7. Paycheck stub 

Apply Online

Visit the Online Library Card application page to apply for a Library card online. 

1. Get a confirmation with a Library card number and PIN  
2. Upon confirmation, you will be granted FULL access to all EPPL's resources.  
3. If you prefer a physical card, you will need to visit the Library. 
4. The card expires after 3 years.  
   
   

Additional types of Library cards:

Educator Library Card

Evergreen Park Public Library will issue educator library cards at no charge to administrators, teachers, and teacher aides who reside outside the library's service area and are currently employed in Evergreen Park Elementary School District 124, Evergreen Park Community High School District 231, or Most Holy Redeemer School.

An educator must complete an application and present a current school ID and current ID verifying home address. Use is limited to the individual whose name appears on the card. The cardholder is responsible for all fines and fees for overdue, damaged, or lost materials. Cards expire at the end of the current academic year, and may be renewed at the beginning of each academic year if there are no delinquencies and the educator remains employed by the local educational entity.

Business Library Card

Evergreen Park Public Library will issue one non-resident library card without payment of the non-resident to:

• Individuals residing beyond the jurisdictional boundaries of Evergreen Park Public Library, but owning taxable property within the jurisdictional boundaries of Evergreen Park Public Library
• Senior Administrative Officer of a firm, business, or other corporation owning taxable property within the jurisdictional boundaries of Evergreen Park Public Library.

Reciprocal Borrower Card (Chicago Public Library and Non-SWAN Reciprocal Library Card)

Non-SWAN library patrons can take out books and other materials using their Chicago Public Library or any library card issued in the state of Illinois. Patrons must bring their valid library card to be entered into our system. We will confirm that the account is in good standing with the home library. Non-SWAN library patrons should also present a valid ID card with photo, name, and address.

The reciprocal borrower's card may be used to check out most library items from the Evergreen Park Public Library and other public libraries in the SWAN system. These cards allow the user to request materials from other libraries through Interlibrary Loan with a limit of 5 holds on the account. Any out-of-system requests (OCLC) must be done through the patron's home library. Reciprocal borrower's can access a computer with a guest pass at no charge.
