AFRICAN AMERICAN ALMANAC

Provides a range of historical and current information on African American history, society and culture. Includes coverage of such topics as: Africa and the Black diaspora; film and television; landmarks; national organizations; population; religion; science and technology; and sports.

AMERICAN MEN AND WOMEN OF SCIENCE

Profiles living persons in the physical and biological fields, as well as public health scientists, engineers, mathematicians, statisticians, and computer scientists.

TRIBUNE  HISTORICAL ARCHIVES, 

The Chicago Tribune (1985-Present) provides complete full-text content of local and regional news, including community events, schools, politics, government policies, cultural activities, local companies, state industries, and people in the community. Paid advertisements are excluded.

The Tribune Historical Archives includes 2.5 million obituaries and death notices from 1849-1992.Three million clippings for major events from the 1920's-1992. Entire front pages from 1900-1992.

CONSUMER REPORTS

Find ratings on hundreds of products, consumer news, and complete issues of Consumer Reports magazine.

Genealogical information covering America since the late 1700s. Collections include census images from 1790 to 1930; 25,000 family and local history books; Revolutionary War records; Freedman’s Bank Records; and the Periodical Source Index (PERSI) covering over 6,500 genealogical periodicals since 1800. It offers unique, complementary content to Ancestry Library Edition.

LOCAL HISTORY (EVERGREEN PARK)

In May 2010, the Library was awarded a grant from the Illinois State Historical Records Advisory Board. With the grant, the Library was able to organize and digitize its local history collection and make selected items available online.

Peek-A-Book Total Access lets children view your library collection in a whole new way. Picture book trailers can be selected from a database of hundreds of titles. Available in the Children Department of the library.  Just stop by and ask the children's librarian.  

POETS

Information on the lives and works of classic poets. Entries include biographical information, critical analysis, and bibliographies of key primary and secondary works.

PROFILES OF ILLINOIS 2014/2015

Provides detailed demographic and statistical data on the over 60 Counties and 1,000+ Places in the state of Illinois.  Information includes demographics on each county & individual city or town and detailed data on school districts, and more.
